This page explains, in plain language, what AKQ Birds collects through this website and what happens to it. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and AKQ Birds is not a law firm — if you need this reviewed for a specific jurisdiction or regulation, please consult a qualified lawyer.

Who this policy covers

AKQ Birds (akqbirds.com) is a genetics-first Alexandrine parakeet breeding program run by Akbar Khan Qureshi, based in the United Arab Emirates. This policy applies to everyone who visits this website, submits a form on it, or creates a Breeder Workspace account.

What we collect

AKQ Birds only collects information you choose to give yourself: through one of the forms on this site, or by creating a Breeder Workspace account.

Forms

Register Interest — name, country, WhatsApp number, email, mutation or line preference, a specific pair or bird code (optional), sex preference, purpose, breeding experience, existing aviary lines, and any message you add.
Future Chick Waitlist — name, country, WhatsApp number, email, and the pair or line you're enquiring about.
Private Pair Details request — name, country, WhatsApp number, email, and the pair or bird you're asking about.

Every form also includes a required consent checkbox, so nothing is submitted without your explicit agreement.

Breeder Workspace accounts

The free calculator tools (Cock, Hen, Chick Results and Target Planner) need no account. My Flock, the Breeding Log and Optimize Pairings are kept in a free account so your records are the same on every device. If you create one, AKQ Birds stores:

Your sign-in details — your email address, the name you give, and your password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form; AKQ Birds can never see it). If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name and email address with us; we receive no other Google data.
Your Breeder Workspace — the birds, cages, pairing plan, Breeding Log, bloodlines and view settings you enter, plus the time and type of device (for example "Mac" or "iPhone") of the last save.

Your workspace is locked to your account: through the site, only you, signed in, can read or change it. As the operator of the service, AKQ Birds could technically reach the database, but does not look at, publish, share or use your records for anything except running the service and fixing a problem you ask us to look into.

What we don't collect

This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and does not use cookies to identify or track visitors. The calculator uses your browser's localStorage to remember preferences such as which tab you last had open, and to keep a working copy of your Breeder Workspace on your device so it keeps working with a weak connection. When you're signed in, that copy is also saved to your account; signing out removes it from the device. If you're signed in, a sign-in token is also kept in browser storage so you stay signed in. None of this is used for tracking.

How your information is used

Form submissions are used only to respond to your enquiry: to register your interest in a line or pair, to add you to a chick waitlist, or to review a private pair details request and answer related questions. Account details are used only to sign you in, keep your workspace in step across devices, and send the emails the account needs (confirming your email address and resetting your password). AKQ Birds does not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.

How submissions are delivered

Forms on this site are processed by FormSubmit, a third-party form-relay service that receives your submission and forwards it to AKQ Birds by email. FormSubmit is the only third party involved in handling form data. Please see FormSubmit's own privacy policy for how they handle data in transit.

Accounts and Breeder Workspaces are hosted by Supabase, which provides the sign-in service and the secure database they are stored in. Data is sent over encrypted connections. See Supabase's privacy policy. If you sign in with Google, Google's own privacy policy applies to that step.

How long we keep it

Submitted information is kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry or maintain breeding program records (for example, a waitlist entry is kept until the relevant chicks are placed or you ask to be removed). You can request deletion at any time — see "Your choices" below.

A Breeder Workspace account and everything in it is kept until you delete it. "Delete account and data" in the account menu removes it immediately; a copy may remain in the hosting provider's routine backups for a short time before those expire.

Your choices

You can ask what information AKQ Birds holds about you.
You can ask for corrections to inaccurate information.
You can ask for your information to be deleted.
You can withdraw consent for future contact at any time.
If you have an account, you can download everything in it at any time ("Download my data" in the account menu) and delete the account yourself ("Delete account and data").

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and AKQ Birds does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information here, contact us and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date above.
